GERMANY - mostly German Federal Republic and Berlin issues, no Empire and no DDR. This collection is housed in a Minkus album, Federal Republic pages 1949 to 1980, Berlin pages from 1948 to 1980. The stamps here are mostly used, hinged to the pages, and consist of several complete sets and some better singles, including some Back-of-book issues.  Stamps from 1945 to about 1955, mint examples especially, are expensive due directly to the War's devistation: people trying to rebuild their lives did not have the money to buy postage to send letters.  2012 Scott $1,873
